Grey Blocks
What are Grey blocks?
Concrete Grey Blocks, often referred to as Besser blocks, are used for a variety of purposes. These grey blocks are often made with hollow sections to help cut down the weight of the concrete and improve the insulating properties of the block.
Concrete Grey blocks are most commonly used for the construction of either residential properties or commercial buildings. Other uses include the construction of walls or retaining walls.
Where Are Grey Blocks Used?
Most commonly, these blocks are a substrate material and either rendered over or have a more decorative façade glued to them. However, polished and honed concrete grey blocks are also available for a finish that is intended for a more visual use.
When used for external load-bearing walls, such as retaining walls, elevator shafts and building structures, they are often reinforced with vertical and horizontal steel rods and similar.
